PokerStars has now chosen to revoke their recent rake increases. Ladbrokes has joined the exodus out of Russia and will no longer be serving residents of this country.

Ultimate Poker folded its hand, leaving WSOP as the only poker room left in Nevada. PokerStars has been in the news lately about their rake increases and the unhappiness of a lot of their players.

PokerStars is maintaining its average of 18,500 cash game players in spite of a lot of dissatisfaction being expressed by players there over recent rake increases, high stakes play actually increased.

Carbon Poker is rolling out an extensive series of tournaments called the Carbon Online Poker Series. Many in the poker community are upset about PokerStars’ recent rake increases.

Rakeback is a refund awarded to the players from the rake taken by the poker room. In essence, if you have to rake $1,000 and the poker room’s rakeback rate is 25%, you will be given back $250.

Rakeback is the amount of your rake that the poker room gives you back as a refund. Typically the refund is made at the beginning of the month for your rake in the previous month.
