How to play Texas Holdem poker
If you are new to poker you should start with Texas Holdem. It is realtively easiest to learn. Texas Holdem can be played with the minimum of 2 players up to 9 players at a time.
Two players must place a bet before cards are dealt - that is known as small and big blind. Each player is dealt 2 cards after mandatory bets are placed and firts round begins.
Round I - Pre-FlopThe player next to big blind begins the game. This player has 3 different options as follows:
CALL - The player can put in same amount that earlier placed by big blind.
RAISE - The player can put in more amount than the Big Blind.
FOLD - The player can quit by throwing his card.
Round II - FlopIn this round three cards are dealt face up on the table. And same steps as in Pre-Flop Round continues to Check, Raise or Fold.
Round III - TurnOne more community card is placed on the table. Now each player has 4 open cards and 2-hole cards on table. The same steps as the Pre-Flop Round continues to Check, Raise Fold.
Round IV - River RoundThe final community card known as the River is dealt face up on the table. Now players have 7 cards available; 2-hole cards and 5 open cards on the table. Again, there is a final round of Check, Raise, Fold
ShowdownAfter 4th round the player has to show their cards in showdown. The player who has the 5-best combination of cards is the winner. To win the game all you need is the good strategy and some smart moves before and after the flop.
